Limassol is the most international city in Cyprus. A marina, a long seafront promenade, international schools and companies from all over the world. It also has the island's tallest towers, with apartments that look over the whole bay.
Paphos moves at the gentlest pace on the island. Ancient mosaics by the harbour, beaches at Coral Bay and wine villages in the hills. The airport is only 15 minutes from town.
Nicosia is the capital and the city that lives all year round. Ministries, universities, hospitals and most of the island's offices. Families choose it for the schools, investors for the steady demand for rentals.
Larnaca is the island's front door, with the main airport ten minutes from the centre. The palm tree seafront and the plans for the port and marina are changing the city, while prices stay below Limassol's.
The free Famagusta area has the best known beaches in Cyprus. Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paralimni fill up in summer and go quiet in winter, which makes the area ideal for a holiday home that earns rent.
